March happenings at Carver Memorial Library
SEARSPORT — Empowering childbirth, book discussions of maritime experiences, Bicentennial reading challenge, and a service dog are all a part of Carver Memorial Library events for March 2020.

Bicentennial/175th Reading Challenge
Starts March 16, runs all year.

Feminine Wisdom: Positive, empowering birth stories
Thursday, March 26, 6:30 p.m.
In popular media, the birth narrative is often a fearful one, but traditionally knowledge of childbirth has been passed down from woman to woman. Childbirth is a powerful, transforming experience. Do you have a positive or beautiful birth story you’d be willing to share? Wisdom or insights to pass on? Or do you just want to come hear a good birth story?
Facilitated by Caitlin Kilpatrick, childbirth educator and owner of Childbirth Edification.
Paws to Read with Commander, a Service Dog
Tuesdays from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Service dog Commander and handler Andrea will be at the library so children can practice reading aloud to him, and he can spend time with library visitors.
