ROCKPORT — The Midcoast Wrestling Club (MCWC) hosted its annual MCWC Maine Youth Opener on Sunday, Jan. 19 at Camden Hills Regional High School in Rockport. 

The event drew wrestlers in preschool through eighth grade from all around the state, including other area programs such as Belfast, Mount View and Oceanside. 

Below are the results from the event involving area youth wrestlers. 

Preschool and Kindergarten Division

35 pounds: Wade Eaton (MCWC) lost by forfeit to Broque Theriault (Winslow), pinned by Cruz Albert (Little Lynx) and lost by forfeit to Wyatt Boulanger (Auburn). Eaton placed fourth in the four-person round robin. 

46 pounds: Leo Pontillo (Mount View) lost to Leo Dube (Little Lynx), pinned Robert Hall (Ellsworth Little Eages) and lost by majority decision against Oliver Spear (Alfond). Pontillo placed third in the four-person round robin. 

65 pounds: Carter Merrifield (MCWC) pinned Sal Adams (Oxford Hills), pinned Josia Rivera (Auburn) and lost by technical pin against Jackson LaBrie (Skowhegan). Merrifield placed second in the four-person round robin. 

First and Second Grades Division

47 pounds: Logan Dodge (MCWC) pinned Vincent Morin (Winslow), pinned by Noah Fortier (Oxford Hills) and pinned Andersson Pomerleau (Bath IronWorkers). Dodge placed second in the four-person round robin. 

51 pounds: Wyatt Reynolds (Mount View) lost to Wesley Wagner (Sawali), pinned by Declan Welch (Ellsworth Little Eagles) and pinned Sawyer Damren (Winslow). Reynolds placed third in the four-person round robin. 

57 pounds: Garrett Gray (MCWC) pinned by Jason Garfield (Winslow), lost to Kyler Nilsson (Little Lynx) and pinned by Caleb Arsenault (Alfond). Gray placed fourth in the four-person round robin. 

58 pounds: Colt Woods (Oceanside) lost to Paul Bertocchi (Pittsfield), pinned by Clan Moriarty (Auburn) and lost by majority decision against Mason Sharood (Kennebunk). Woods placed fourth in the four-person round robin. 

61 pounds: Blake Monroe (Oceanside) pinned by Jaxson Otero (Oxford Hills), pinned by Gavin Gallant (Kennebunk) and pinned by Bennett Libbey (Little Lynx). Monroe placed fourth in the four-person round robin. 

64 pounds: Austin Gray (MCWC) lost to Kitpu Cook (Warsaw), lost by forfeit to Gavin Adams (Sawali) and lost by forfeit to Tanner Gilbert (Ellsworth Little Eagles). Gray placed fourth in the four-person round robin. 

72 pounds: Adrian Serrano (Mount View) won by majority decision against Tyson Marr (Belfast), pinned Carter Aube (Trojan), pinned by Kamden Hafford (Alfond) and defeated Hunter Butters (Skowhegan). Serrano placed second in the five-person round robin. 

72 pounds: Tyson Marr (Belfast) lost by majority decision against Adrian Serrano (Mount View), pinned by Kamden Hafford (Alfond), pinned by Hunter Butters (Skowhegan) and pinned by Carter Aube (Trojan). Marr placed fifth in the five-person round robin.

Third and Fourth Grades Division

76 pounds: Dominick Turner (MCWC) pinned Boyd Rowe (Bath IronWorkers), lost to Connor Jenney (Sawali) and won by majority decision against Isiah Collins (Pittsfield). Turner placed third in the four-person round robin. 

82 pounds: Conner Milligan (Mount View) lost to Isabela Rourke (Winslow), pinned by Justin Doody (Gardiner) and pinned by Mulin Cook (Warsaw). Milligan placed fourth in the four-person round robin. 

99 pounds: Bryce Gushee (Oceanside) pinned Karson Melanson (Gardiner), pinned Levin Elwell (Winslow) and defeated Carter Squires (Oxford Hills). Gushee placed first in the four-person round robin. 

110 pounds: Ocean Keister (Oceanside) pinned by Jeremiah Fields (Dirigo), pinned by Jackson Merrill (Dirigo) and lost by majority decision against Izabella Bertocchi (Pittsfield). Keister placed fourth in the four-person round robin. 

150 pounds: Emmett Milliken (MCWC) pinned Caleb Aube (Trojan) and lost to Jedidah Fields (Dirigo). Milliken placed second in the three-person round robin. 

Fifth and Sixth Grades Division

54 pounds: Keagan Kelly (MCWC) pinned Kadence Fogg (Mount View), pinned Evan McMann (Kennebunk) and defeated Noah Parenteau (Belfast). Kelly placed first in the four-person round robin.
