Williams-Brazier Post 37 and Boy Scout Troop 215 commemorate Flag Day

THOMASTON — Every year, on June 14, Flag Day is commemorated throughout the United States and its territories. This year the Thomaston American Legion Williams-Brazier Post 37 co-hosted a Flag Retirement Ceremony with the Thomaston Boy Scout Troop 215 at the Legion Hall to commemorate Flag Day.
Three flags, contributed by Michelle White, Curtis Ayotte and Gordon Page, were retired by fire, per American Legion ceremonial guidelines. Other flags provided by the same donors, will be similarly retired at a future ceremony.
For the first time at Post 37, the ceremony was streamed live over Facebook for viewing by those who were unable to attend the ceremony.
