Waldoboro Police beat: Counterfeit money, arrest warrants, operating under the influence
WALDOBORO — Waldoboro police responded to 140 calls for service from Feb. 22-29. Listed below are a few of the highlights. An arrest or summons does not apply guilt. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
Feb. 24
Officer John Lash investigated an accident on Washington Road at 5:42 a.m. Katherine Denomme, 42, of Washington, was driving a 2002 GMC utility vehicle. Denomme was traveling south on Washington Road, lost control due to weather conditions, went off the road on the right, rolled over one full rotation and came to rest on a lawn. Injuries were reported.
Officer Larry Hesseltine investigated an accident on Atlantic Highway at 7:05 a.m. Julia Rhinebolt, 24, of Wiscasset, was driving a 2007 Ford sedan. Randy Hall, 65, of New Harbor, was driving a 2006 Ford pickup truck. Kristin Orne, 24, of Newcastle, was driving a 2013 Honda sedan. Rhinebolt was traveling westbound following the roadway and lost control on slippery surface, spun out of control, hitting Hall’s vehicle that was traveling eastbound following roadway. Rhinebolt’s vehicle continued to spin out of control, forcing Orne, who was traveling westbound following roadway, off the road. Injuries were reported.
Hesseltine is investigating a report from a citizen of criminal mischief to a tree with debris left behind, possibly from a snowmobile.
Officer Chris Spear is investigating a $32.75 gasoline drive-off from the Big Apple.
Todd Miller, 41, of Waldoboro, was arrested by Spear for operating under the influence.
Feb. 25
Daniel Simmons, 32, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Hesseltine for speed.
Marshall Spear, 32, of Yarmouth, was issued a summons by Hesseltine for an uninspected motor vehicle.
Hesseltine is investigating a $33.71 gasoline drive-off from the Big Apple.
Feb. 26
Seth Neal, 35, of Friendship, was issued a summons by Hesseltine for operating after suspension.
Feb. 27
Officer Jeffery Fuller is investigating a report from the Family Dollar Store that they received a counterfeit $50 bill.
Feb. 28
Fuller is investigating a report from a resident that she is receiving harassing text messages.
Douglass Knowlton, 25, of Warren, was arrested by Fuller on a warrant.
Mackenzie Whitehill, 19, of Waldoboro, was issued a summons by Officer Andrew Santheson for operating after suspension.
