Waldo man charged in stabbing incident

    WALDO — On July 18, at 4:58 a.m., staff at the Waldo County General Hospital called Waldo County Regional Communications Center to report a stabbing incident involving a patient who was currently there seeking care. After initial questioning, it was determined the stabbing incident occurred earlier that morning in the town of Waldo.

    Detective Merl Reed and Deputy James Porter began investigating the incident and learned that a 26-year-old male had been stabbed by Sean Sullivan, 28, of Waldo, on the Old County Road, according to Waldo County Sheriff’s Office, in a news release.

    Sullivan was later arrested without incident on charges of aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon and violating conditions of release.

    The male victim has been transferred from Belfast to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center for further medical treatment.
