BELFAST — The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity Oct. 13 - 20. An arrest or summons does not imply guilt.

Oct. 12

Joseph Hurd, 30, of Charleston, was issued summonses for theft and burglary on Stage Coach Road in Unity, stemming from an incident Sept. 16. 

Oct. 13

Joseph A. Greenleaf, 26, of Wiscasset, was issued a summons for criminal speeding on Route 7 in Brooks.

Alexander J. Shyduroff, 32, of Brooks, was issued a summons for speeding 79 mph in a 50 mph zone on Route 7 in Brooks. 

Oct. 16

Deputy Daniel Thompson responded to the scene of a single vehicle accident on Harriman Road in Swanville where the operator of a 2012 Toyota left the roadway while attempting to navigate a turn. The driver reportedly told Thompson that he was traveling with a piglet contained in a box on his passenger side seat when turning onto Harriman Road from Veazie Road, causing the box to tip. While trying to keep the piglet from falling the operator left the roadway, entering a ditch before striking a utility pole. There were no injuries.
