Waldo Community Action Partners to host Digital Literacy Classes in Waldo County

Waldo Community Action Partners announces a new series of computer literacy courses geared towards Maine residents ages 55+ to be hosted at libraries throughout Waldo County this February, March, and April.

Courses are made available through the National Digital Equity Center, a nationally recognized organization with a mission to close the digital divide across the United States, and are designed to provide opportunities for professional growth, personal enrichment, and the development of computer skills in a supportive environment. 

Waldo CAP will facilitate in-person classes held at the Belfast Public Library, the Waldo Peirce Library in Frankfort, and the Unity Public Library. Classes last about an hour. 

Topics include Learning about Devices, Identifying Frauds & Scams, and Getting News and Information Online. Laptops will be made available to participants as needed.

Classes are free to Maine residents. All ages are welcome; courses are geared towards ages 55+.  A limit of 10 seats is available for each class.
