UPDATED: Liberty man suffers potential life-threatening injuries in single-vehicle wreck
LIBERTY — A Liberty man who faced potentially life-threatening injuries following a single-vehicle accident on Prescott Hill Aug. 1, has been treated and released from Northern Lights Eastern Maine Medical Center, according to a media representative Aug. 6.
Sean Anderson, 37, had to be extricated from the vehicle after it traveled off the roadway and struck a tree, causing substantial damage. Anderson was reportedly “badly pinned” in the vehicle as a result of the crash, according to an Aug. 2 press release from the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident was reported to Waldo County Regional Communications Center around 8:30 p.m. and Waldo County Sheriff’s deputies and surrounding first responders were the first to reach the scene, where they immediately began rendering aid.
After being freed from the vehicle Anderson was flown by LifeFlight of Maine to NLEMMC in Bangor for treatment of his injuries and has since been released.
Waldo County Sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Jackson is investigating the crash.
Alcohol impairment is believed to be a factor in the accident, according to the release.
