UPDATE: All clear following threat made to Maine Medical Center in Portland

    Maine Medical Center has been declared all-clear by Portland and State Police at 6:32 p.m., working in coordination with the MMC Safety and Security teams. Visitation has been returned to normal status.

    MMC has thanked the Portland and State Police for their rapid response and collaboration.


    Maine Medical Center issued the following statement today, June 19, at 3:15 pm:

    Maine Medical Center received a threat through its switchboard on Sunday, June 19, 2022. This threat is being investigated by Portland authorities, in coordination with MMC’s safety and security teams. Out of an abundance of caution, patient visitation has been cancelled today unless deemed medically necessary by the MMC care team, said Maine Med, in a news release.
