Union Farmers Market relocates to Come Spring Food Pantry

UNION —  The field adjacent to the new Come Spring Food Pantry building, located at 27 Common Road in Union, is now the home of the Union Farmers Market.

Operating each Friday from 3 - 6 p.m., through early October, the revitalized Union Farmers Market features live plants, freshly harvested veggies, local meats, eggs, hand-crafted yarns, soaps, jams, and herbal medicines, along with other surprises. Ample parking is a bonus for Market visitors, according to the Pantry, in a news release.

Proximity to Rt. 17 provides increased public visibility for the Food Pantry and Farmers Market.

“The new Food Pantry property is a perfect fit for revitalized Union Farmers Market,” said the Pantry.

With a freshly installed roof, renovations and improvements continue on the interior and exterior of the Food Pantry building. The new building will feature an expanded food pantry, commercial kitchen, and community space. Vital refrigeration and freezer storage will be shared with other local food insecurity organizations. Planned community uses including raised beds for gardening, walking paths, along with nutrition and cooking education programs.

Come Spring Food Pantry’s mission of feeding our neighbors with dignity, promoting health, opportunity and hope will continue to grow in scope at the new facility.
