Two free computer classes offered at Belfast Free Library
BELFAST — The Belfast Free Library and the National Digital Equity Center (NDEC) will be presenting two free computer classes to take place in the library’s Abbott Room: “Internet Safety” on September 5 and 12, from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m., followed by “Cutting the Cord: Getting TV & Phone Services Over the Internet” on September 19, from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.
In “Internet Safety,” participants will learn how to keep their information and their computer/devices safe. This is a two-part class, with the first session taking place on September 5, at 11 a.m., and the second session taking place on September 12, at 11 a.m.
“Cutting the Cord” refers to the pattern of canceling cable or satellite services and being able to watch television shows online, as well as options that would allow for getting rid of a landline. This class will not only show attendees the wide variety of options out there, but also teach some tools to decide if cutting the cord is the right option. This class will take place on September 19, at 11 a.m.
These workshops are free to Maine residents, but space is limited and registration is required. To register for one or both of these classes, please fill out the form on the NDEC website at https://tinyurl.com/58yx6ark.
