Tipping Point and Minor Turbulence, two art shows by mother, daughter together at the Steele House
Tue, 07/11/2023 - 10:30pm
Amy Wilton and her daughter, Emma, are currently showing their art at the Steel House in Rockland, through the month of July. The show is named The Tipping Point, and is an artistic exploration of insecurity.
Through the use of found objects and mixed media, Amy’s sculptures and paintings create a sense of upheaval and unrest that mimic the insecurities we feel when change is inevitable.
Emma’s colorful and abstracted portraiture pokes fun at the serious and emotional through ridiculous colors and lopsided proportions. This duality ends up validating sadness as a visible and essential part of life, alongside joy and play.
Emma is currently a trainee at the Joffrey Ballet School’s Jazz & Contemporary program in New York City. Her work is heavily influenced by her daily explorations of physical form, shape, and sensation.
