SPRUCE HEAD — The Craignair Gallery invites the public to the Opening Reception of Time and Tide, a joint exhibition by father and son artists, Robert and Kenneth Schweizer, on Wednesday, May 29, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Live music by pianist James Vander Noot will be featured and light refreshments served. Largely inspired by coastal Maine, their oil and watercolor paintings showcase local beauty and other locally inspiring subjects.

Ken, a self-taught painter and year-round resident of Port Clyde, explores various themes and ideas in his paintings and drawings; from still-life, flights of fancy, landscapes and traditional marine subjects. His aim is to make art that is timeless, attractive and captivating.

Ken’s father, Robert, studied portrait and figure painting at the Lyme Academy in Connecticut. However, his focus turned to the beauty of the Maine Coast thirty years ago where he strives to captures the “sense of place and the quality of light.”
