Thomaston traffic moved slowly following motor vehicle crash, Aug. 4
THOMASTON — Traffic along Main Street, Route 1, in Thomaston, was down to one lane following a two-vehicle collision in the northbound lane, Sunday, Aug. 4.
At approximately 2:35 p.m., Knox County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a head-on collision near 383 Main Street, just up the road from where another head-on crash caused serious injuries in February.
Today’s collision, however, did not result in any reported injuries.
Both cars were hauled from the scene, and because Creek Hill Auto Repair only had one driver, that driver shortened the traffic wait time considerably by first moving one car into a nearby parking spot before loading the second car and transporting it back to the garage.
Traffic was allowed to return to normal at approximately 3:35 p.m.
Thomaston Police took operator statements while Thomaston and Rockland EMS inquired about injuries and two members of the Thomaston Fire Dept. managed traffic.
