Thomaston Grammar students focus on cooperation in April 2025

Students at Thomaston Grammar School have been focusing on cooperation during the month of April. Several students at Thomaston Grammar School were recognized for being cooperative at a school-wide assembly on May 1. The students receiving this award are known to cooperate and be team players.
Cooperation Award winners were: Noah Gagnon, Seamus Henry, Liam Quackenbush, Everlee Baughman, James McRae, Adelina Kuras, Erik King, Hazel Sturks, Alex Stinson, Quinn Blakeway, Opal Wellman, Elizabeth Guzman, Seth Beckett, Mya Rodriques, Kaycee Willis, Joy Chen, and Payton Porter.
Throughout the month, students were awarded daily tickets for being cooperative. These tickets were put into a raffle and six lucky winners were drawn at the assembly. Winners received their choice of a gift card donated by local businesses or lunch or a game with Principal Riley. The winners this month were: Brycen Carr, Killian Walsh, Palmer Jackomino, Hailey Ames, Noa Silverstein, and Calvin Chamberlain.
Norah Smith was also presented with this month’s Principal’s Award. Norah is a marvelous member of the TGS community. It is apparent to all that she cares about her peers and the staff members at TGS. She works hard to be an excellent, contributing member of the school community.
The NextGen Sea Dog’s Most Improved Students were also recognized.
Students receiving this award were: Trenton Adams, Charlotte Ahearn, Everlee Baughman, Seth Beckett, Adam Breen, Brycen Carr, Scarlett Carver, Justin Chen, Derrick Corson, Maisie Cunningham, Hazel Dare, Emmett DeYoung, Matthew Favreau, Hayden Gagnon, Ivy Gamage, David Grierson, Amyiah Hantz, Wyatt Hendron, Dominic Jefferson, Marley Johnson, Dylan Latta, James Magnoli, Avery McLean, James McRae, Gwen Milton, Lincoln Moorman, Jasmine Okouo Mirguin, Ezra Reed, Gemma Rubino, Levi Saroka, Pam Smith, Alex Watson, and London York. Students were presented with a certificate from the Sea Dogs and a complimentary ticket to a Sea Dogs game.
The assembly concluded with four teams of students participating in a “Snag the Scarf” game. The teams were assembled by the winners of the Cooperation Awards. Each team had a hula hoop with scarves in it at the far end of the gym. Teams sent one person at a time to pick up one scarf, but instead of using their hands to pick up the scarf, they had to use two pool noodles! Once they had their scarf, they had to walk it back towards their team and drop it in an empty hula hoop. There were lots of laughs and everyone had a great time! It was so wonderful to see all the TGS students cheering on their classmates!
Next month, students at TGS will be focusing on courage.
Congratulations to all the students who received awards at TGS this month!
