Thomaston Fourth of July committee announces parade theme
THOMASTON — The Thomaston Fourth of July committee has announced this year’s theme for the parade: May the Fourth be with you!
The committee had thirty two submissions for the theme contest.
Committee Chair Julie Brooks said in a news release: “We were so pleased to have so many thoughtful entries submitted! The committee had a hard time narrowing it down to just one.”
Peter Jenks for submitting the winning theme. He will be awarded $100. The second and third choice themes were “Maine Landmarks” and “Summer in Maine”, both submitted by Carol Beaster of Warren.
This theme is encouraged as a design idea for all floats, bike entries, walkers, cars, baby strollers, lawn mowers, four wheelers, clowns and even tractors.
“We are excited to see how creative our parade participants get with this theme!” Brooks said in the release.
The 2015 event is scheduled for Saturday, July 4.
