Sue and I would like to thank the Gabrieles for 40 years of reuben sandwiches, onion rings, custom omelettes and more. We didn’t eat at Marriner’s regularly, but over four decades (!) it has added up. Becki and her staff always treated us like neighbors, which we appreciated greatly. In fact, we are neighbors—for years, the distant thump of a basketball would drift over from the Gabrieles’ house, and to us this became one of the sounds of a peaceful summer evening.

Camden doesn’t appear to change much from year to year, but when an institution like Marriner’s turns over and folks like Dan and Becki depart, even if only for Union, it’s another reminder that the calendar never stops.
