Teen driver in critical condition following Palermo crash
PALERMO — A driver is in critical condition following a Nov. 12, crash, which occured in Palermo, according to a media report from Waldo County Sheriff's Lieutenant Cody Laite.
The single-vehicle crash was reported at approximately 12:07 p.m., when a report was received of the accident, which took place on North Palermo Road.
The operator of a 2002 Ford Ranger was reportedly being driven by a male juvenile who lives in China. The juvenile reportedly was traveling south where he failed to maintain control of the vehicle and ran off the roadway, striking a cement barrier. The vehicle overturned due to the impact.
The juvenile, who is not being named, sustained serious injuries and was transported for treatment of his injuries. He remains in critical condition, according to the report.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation, however no criminal activity is suspected
