The Sugar Snaps kick off Thomaston summer concert series, July 23
Music Behind the Block returns for its fifth season on Wednesday, July 23 with a high-energy performance by The Sugar Snaps, an eight-piece soul, funk, and R&B band with a horn section and vocals. The concert runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m., on the stage behind the Thomaston Municipal Building, at 13 Valley Street. In the event of rain, the concert will move indoors to Watts Hall, located at 174 Main Street.
Presented by Thrive in Thomaston, Music Behind the Block is a free, all-ages summer concert series that brings the community together each Wednesday evening to enjoy live music, food, and connection in the heart of downtown. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket, play lawn games, and let the kids enjoy bubbles and activities while the music plays.
A rotating lineup of local food trucks will be on site each week, starting with Shift Wood Fired Pizza on July 23, serving naturally leavened wood-fired pizzas, fresh salads, wraps, falafel, and more. Here, Hold My Cone will be there every week with Stone Fox Farm Creamery ice cream.
Music Behind the Block runs weekly from July 23 through August 20, with a new band and food truck each week. The full lineup is available at https://www.facebook.com/ThriveInThomaston. This season of Music Behind the Block is made possible thanks to the support of the Town of Thomaston and community sponsors.
