CAMDEN — The Poets Corner and Page Gallery invite the community to write poems in response to images in the Poetry in Motion exhibition as well as Sal Taylor Kydd’s concurrent exhibit, Yesterday. Images can be viewed online at https://www.thepagegallery.com/exhibition/poetry-in-motion or in person at the Page Gallery on Bayview Street in Camden.

Poetry in Motion is an ekphrastic poetry collaboration between The Poets Corner and Page Gallery. The exhibition and readings make connections between visual art and poetry to encourage us to consider new ways of seeing and deepen our understanding of both forms of art.

Ekphrastic writing is an age-old tradition of creating a literary description or commentary on a work of art. All are welcome to submit their poems online at www.thepoetscorner.org/events/poetry-in-motion. Submissions received by November 1 will be considered for “The Poets’ selection” or “The Artists’ Selection.”

“The Poets Selection” – 5-10 poems will be selected by The Poets Corner to be read on a Zoom event on Sunday, November 14, 2021.

“The Artists’ Selection” – the artists in the show will also select 5-10 poems to be read in person at the Page Gallery on Saturday, November 20, 2021.

Submission guidelines and a link are on www.thepoetscorner.org
