CAMDEN — Wednesday night’s storm front continues to move across the Midcoast, bringing wind, lighting and distant thunder, but only small bursts of large rain drops.

With the lightning so far away, capturing images is a little easier, and safer, than it would otherwise be.

Much of Knox County is still in the dark as of 11:45 p.m., after county officials around 9:25 p.m. requested Central Maine Power shut down power to several towns due to numerous downed trees and power lines.

The entire southern half of Maine is under a severe thunderstorm watch until midnight. The watch includes Knox, Lincoln, York, Cumberland and Sagadahoc counties.
