Solar farm source of energy is inefficient, toxic to the environment
I am dismayed by the devastation of the beauty of Maine by solar farms.
Our “Pine Tree State” is becoming the “Solar Farm State.”
This source of energy is inefficient and toxic to the environment. It is also destroying the natural habitat of our wildlife. These panels eventually fail and there is not any safe way to dispose of them.
The current method is to bury them and if their seals eventually leak, can release their toxins into our groundwater.
Representative Dodge’s answer in a recent interview to this problem was, “..I’m trusting that technology is going to advance in the next 10 or 15 or 20 years and help us in the appropriate disposal of those when they need to be disposed of…”
Not having an answer to disposing toxic/caustic solar panels before you place them on thousands and thousands of Maines prior beautiful landscape is not acceptable and is careless.
I am very disturbed Maine is going ahead with this program without any clear path of disposing of these panels. I will not be supporting Jan Dodge this election.
