ROCKLAND — Sharon L. (Gamage) Preston, 77, passed away at Pen Bay Medical Center on March 19, 2025, after a courageous battle with health issues.

Born in Rockland, Maine, Oct.19, 1947, the daughter of Ernest Gamage Sr. and Eunice Thompson-Gamage. She was educated in Rockland schools and went on to work as a nursing assistant, and also had employment in New Jersey and Florida.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald Preston; her parents; brother Norman Gamage Sr. of Owls Head; and sister Elaine Steves of Rockland.

She is survived by sons Brian, Patrick, Brandon, and Shane; a daughter, Michelle; and several grandchildren, as well as her siblings Ruth Ames of Verona Island, Gladys Hutchinson of Vinalhaven, Eunice Gamage-Alfano of Union, Ernest Gamage Jr. of Hope, and a very close friend considered a sister, Donna Emery of Rockland.

Sharon enjoyed doing cross stitch, diamond art, and karaoke. She enjoyed listening to music and spending time with family and friends as well as spending time in her gardens.

The family would like to acknowledge the support and care she received from Steve Flowers and Bunny Gieseman during her battles with her health issues.

Her graveside committal will be held in late spring or early summer.
