S.E.A announces new grant cycle with Dec. 2023 deadline
The Board of the Stewardship Education Alliance announces a new grant cycle for teachers and high school students in Appleton, Camden, Hope, Lincolnville, and Rockport. Most grants will be for $500 or less, and S.E.A. hopes to fund 5 - 7 such grants.
Applications are due by December 4, 2023 and S.E.A. will award grants in late December. High school students may apply for a grant, but need the support of an adult mentor.
Grants must further the S.E.A. mission to increase awareness of ways to be better stewards of our local watersheds, and include data-collection. Teachers and students will have opportunities to present their work to the community.
“One possibility we encourage is using local resident Elizabeth (Beede) Parker’s book A Natural History of Camden and Rockport (1984) as a baseline against which to observe and record change in our local watersheds,” said the S.E.A. Board, in a news release. (To download this book go to: https://mainenaturalhistory.org/natural-history-camden-rockport)
