School Union 69 invites students, staff, parents, community members to weigh in on a survey
School Union 69, which represents K-8 public schools in Appleton, Hope and Lincolnville, wants to hear from the community as it embarks on the search for a new superintendent.
Current Superintendent of Schools Kate Clark will be resigning June 30, 2025.
"We are seeking your input to ensure that the school committee selects a leader who reflects the values, priorities, and aspirations of our community," said the School Committee that oversees Union 69. "Your voice is essential to this process, and we would greatly appreciate your participation in a brief survey."
The survey seeks to gather feedback on the qualifications, leadership characteristics, and skills that people consider most important for the individual who will guide the district.
"Whether you are a student, staff member, parent, or community stakeholder, your perspective is invaluable in shaping the profile of our next superintendent," the district said.

The results of this survey are to help inform the school committee as it begins the search and interview process.
"We believe that a collaborative approach is critical to finding a superintendent who will best meet the needs of our students and the entire community," said Judith Masseur, chair of the School Union 69 Superintendent Search Committee."
