Sampling of Halloween 2024 in Rockland
A small sampling of Halloween 2024 in Rockland pulls forth an abundance of creativity exuding from larger hearts that took advantage of 66 degree temperatures as residents and entities spilled into the parking lots, Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024.
A Trunk or Treat in the Flanagan Center parking lot, organized by the Coastal Recovery Community Center, enabled a lighter side of Public Works and Rockland Police, and was supported by Penquis, which donated small non-edible party favor for the youngest in the crowd. Children not only showed off their costumes, but exchanged hi-fives with McGruff, lobbed foul shots against a short basketball hoop, and – conveniently located – tested the nearby playground equipment, before heading up the street to Burpee, Carpenter, and Hutchin Funeral Home and other stops in the area.
The Flanagan Center (aka Rec Center) was held from 5 – 7 p.m., starting an hour after the American Legion Trunk or Treat on Limerock Street, which was held from 4 – 6 p.m.
