RSU 13 proposes budget increase of 7.4 percent; public hearing May 23

    ROCKLAND — Regional School Unit 13 is looking at a sizable increase to its budget for the upcoming school year. 

    The proposed budget for the 2019-2020 school year for RSU 13 includes an increase of 7.4 percent from $29,035,000 to $31,176,500. 

    The district covers Cushing, Owls Head, Rockland, South Thomaston and Thomaston. 

    A public hearing on the proposed budget will be held Thursday, May 23, at 6 p.m. at Oceanside High School in Rockland. 

    The budget validation referendum vote will occur at local polling places Tuesday, June 11 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
