THOMASTON and LARGO, Fla. — Rose Agnes (O'Clair) Wilson, of Thomaston and Largo, Fla., 87, passed away peacefully on Feb. 10, 2017, in Florida at Oak Manor Healthcare, after a period of declining health. Rose was born in St. Albans to parents George and Leota O'Clair, and was one of 17 children.

Rose and her husband, Norman, lived in Thomaston while raising their six children. For many years she chose to be a stay-at-home mom and was a great homemaker to her family. She enjoyed spending summers at her family camp on McGrath Pond in Oakland. She was an active leader in both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. For many years Rose was a crossing guard at the Thomaston Grammar School, helping students across Route 1. Rose had a zest for life, loved spending time with family, loved to laugh, loved to cook (it came natural to her), and loved to play cards.

Rose's family said she was an amazing woman who always told you her opinions, right or wrong, and that she was always right...just ask her! Rose wintered in Florida from 1982 to the present time.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Linda Wentworth of Rockland; and her five sons, Gerald (Mina) of Westerville, Ohio, James (Terrie) of Wilton, Paul (Alison) of Cushing, Patrick and his companion, Jessie Buchanan, of Thomaston, and Timothy (Kelly) of Thomaston. She also leaves behind her sister, Edna Gamage of Spruce Head; as well as 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Norman G.Wilson; and her granddaughter, Ashton Elizabeth Wilson.

A memorial service is planned for Friday, April 21, at 10:30 a.m., when Rose will be laid beside her husband, Norman, in Village Cemetery on Erin Street in Thomaston.
