MORRILL — Ronald James "Ron" Roy, 73, of Morrill, passed away peacefully on Aug. 12, 2016, after a 15-year battle with ALS.

Ron is survived by his two children, Ron Roy Jr. and his wife, Laurie, of Morrill, and Monique Roy Whitcomb and her husband, Jerry, of South Portland; four grandchildren, Amanda, Christie, Sarai and Kendra; eight great-grandchildren; his sisters, Patsy Sheehan of Massachusetts, and Sandra Roy Ward and her husband, Donald, of Newburgh, Maine; his brother, Bobby Roy of Bangor; and several nieces and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Marie; his beautiful wife of 49 years, Carmen; his brother, James Roy; and his nephew, Mathew Ward.

Ron's life was centered around family and he will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, fishing and hunting; for his love of cars and his talented ability to build and repair them; also for his creative skills as a wood worker, builder and carpenter.

A funeral service for Ron will held Friday, Aug. 19, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi in Belfast. There will be a private burial following for family members only.
