Rockport man facing new drug charges after bail check
ROCKLAND – A Rockport man remains at the Knox County Jail as of Dec. 6 on $50,000 cash bail on new drug charges after he was arrested again Nov. 27, just three days after his initial arrest.
Jason Winslow, 51, was first arrested by Rockland Police Nov. 24 after his vehicle was stopped by Rockland Police who were conducting a “pro-active traffic enforcement in the area of suspected drug activity,” for having falsely attached registration plates.
During the stop, officers developed probable cause to search the vehicle and they recovered approximately 15 grams of methamphetamine, 10 grams of cocaine, 15 grams of crack cocaine, 4 grams of xylazine and approximately 150 OxyContin pills.
Along with the narcotics, officer seized approximately $4,200 in suspected drug proceeds, recovered two handguns and one loaded AR-15 style rifle, according to Rockland Police.
Winslow was charged with attaching false plates, having a loaded rifle in a vehicle, and felony aggravated trafficking of scheduled drugs.
Bail was set at $30,000 cash and he was released that night after posting bail.
One of the conditions of Winslow’s bail conditions was a daily check in at the Rockland Police Department.
On Nov. 27 during his court ordered check in, Rockland Police found over 20 grams of suspected crack cocaine in a glass container in his vehicle, according to the police affidavit filed in Knox County Court.
Winslow was arrested on the new charges of felony unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs, unlawful possession of scheduled drugs (crack cocaine) and violating conditions of release.
At Winslow’s court hearing on Dec. 2 for the new drug charges, the judge set bail at $50,000 cash with no third-party bail allowed.
He is being held at the Knox County Jail and a motion to revoke bail has been filed by the state. A court hearing for the motion is scheduled on Feb. 13, 2025.
