Rockport library book sale opens during Donut Festival Weekend

ROCKPORT — The Friends of Rockport Public Library (FRPL) will hold their second book sale of the year on Friday, June 7, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Saturday, June 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The sale will run in tandem with the Town of Rockport’s Second Annual Donut Festival and will take place in the lower level of the Rockport Public Library.
Tables will be filled with thousands of books, spanning a wide variety of tastes and genres — fiction, mystery, history, biography, cookbooks, gardening, art, Maine, children, young adult, and a large selection of “specials.” DVDs, CDs, puzzles and more will be also available. Most items will be priced between $.50 and $5, and the selections will be refreshed often.
“The funds generated by the FRPL’s book sales are truly impactful,” said Ben Blackmon, director of the Rockport Public Library, in a news release. “They have been used to purchase new computers and shelving, and to support programming over the years.”
FRPL is also sponsoring the Rockport Library Donut Dash 5K on June 8, at 8 a.m. Proceeds from the run will support the library as well.
Book Sale shoppers who have FRPL memberships save 10% on all sales. Annual memberships are easy to get and cost only $15 for individuals, $20 for families, and $50 for the “patron” level. Stop by the library to sign up.
Only checks and cash will be accepted at the sale.
Volunteers are needed for help with table and book set up, cashiering, and clean up.
Please contact the library at 236-3642 for more information.
