Rockport celebrates town office solar energy effort, May 4
Join the Town of Rockport and ReVision Energy, a Liberty-based solar engineering firm, is hosting a solar celebration at the Rockport Town Office building, May 4, 4 to 6 p.m.
ReVision Energy recently installed solar panels on the town office roof, a 24.75 kilowatt solar array. At the celebration, ReVision representatives will be on hand to talk about how the 90 solar panels are to provide approximately 73 percent of the office’s electricity needs.
The Town of Rockport is using a power purchase agreement (PPA) with ReVision Energy to finance the solar array installation. That agreement, which citizens approved in December, stipulates that the array is owned by ReVision and the town is obligated to purchase the power produced. After six years, the town will be eligible to purchase the array, at the town’s option, at an appropriately scaled-down price (due to depreciation), which is provided for in the PPA.
The celebration is free and open to the public. All are welcome to attend.
ReVision Energy designs, engineers and installs solar energy systems as well as heat pumps, EV chargers and battery storage solutions. With offices in Liberty, Portland, in Brentwood and Concord, N. H., in Middleton, Mass., ReVision Energy has installed more than 5,000 residential and commercial solar energy systems across northern New England.
