Rockland woman accused of breaking woman’s jaw during bar assault
ROCKLAND— A Rockland woman was arrested Nov. 17 for allegedly breaking the jaw of another woman at the Time Out Pub earlier this month.
Jacqueline Johnson, 38, also known as Jacqueline Harrington, was charged by Rockland Police with aggravated assault.
Johnson made her initial court appearance Nov. 20 in Knox County Unified Court. Justice Daniel Billings set her bail at $1,000 cash. She posted bail and was later released from jail.
According to the affidavit filed in court by police, the victim said that she was dancing at the pub with friends when Johnson allegedly punched her in the face, knocked her to the floor and pulled out some of her hair. The bouncer at the club and the victim’s friends stopped the attack.
Although Johnson was removed from the pub, she returned and attacked the victim again, according to the affidavit.
Police said that the victim sustained a facial fracture, a broken jaw, and is on a liquid diet drinking from a straw. She has missed several days of work and is meeting with a surgeon about her injuries.
Based on the severity of the victim’s injuries, police obtained an arrest warrant for Johnson on the charge of aggravated assault. Police had initially issued Johnson a summons for assault the night of Nov. 5.
The victim told police that she had known Johnson from a few years ago, but had not seen her since then, according to the court document.
Johnson will appear in court again on Jan. 25.
