Rockland police charge suspects in pistol whipping, vandalism incidents
ROCKLAND — Rockland police have charged multiple youths in connection with crimes that have occurred during the past month, according to a press release Aug. 26 on the department’s Facebook page.
Police charged a juvenile with aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon (Class B) and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon (Class C). The charges stem from the incident on Aug. 6 involving the pistol-whipping of another juvenile.
Additionally but unrelated, Rockland Police have charged multiple subjects, both juvenile and adult, after an investigation into the damaging of several properties and playground equipment; vandalized on Aug. 12 with graffiti, including racial slurs.
Police said that two juveniles were charged with criminal mischief.
Kelsie Morin, 18, was charged with criminal mischief. Khyllie Cochran, 18, was arrested on the charges of criminal mischief, theft, and violating conditions of release, according to police.
Cochran is currently being held at the Knox County Jail in Rockland.
According to a previous news release on Aug. 9, Rockland Police made contact with Cochran on Pleasant Street on Aug. 3 in Rockland and issued her a summons for criminal mischief for an altercation which occurred on July 28 in the Rockland Police Department parking lot. Police also charged Cochran with aggravated criminal mischief for a vandalism incident on July 13 at Oceanside High School in Rockland.
