ROCKKLAND — Thanks to a grant to the Friends of Rockland Public Library from the Anonimo Foundation, the Library is looking for makers of take-home craft kits that are created by local artists and crafters.

As one alternative to in-person programming, the Library has been handing out Grab-n-Go craft bags for its local youth twice a month since October 2020.

“We are interested in providing additional kits for kids, teens, and for all-ages,” said the Library, in a news releaese. “We would love to support, and collaborate with, local artists through these crafts. Where helpful, we’d be very happy to record a short Zoom interview with you, where you could introduce yourself and discuss your craft.”

If interested, please contact the Rockland Public Library’s Children’s Librarian, Miss Katie at kdrago@rocklandmaine.gov with a description of your kit concept, as well as any questions. Please contact Miss Katie by Monday, April 12.

Prior crafts kits have included making "stained glass" butterflies out of lighting gels and contact paper, weaving a small blanket for toys (provided by artist Susan Beebe), making a "standing" owl out of a paper bag, and an adult Valentine craft (created by artist Naomi Howe).
