On Wednesday, August 19, the City of Rockland will host a Safe Routes to South School Community Workshop. The workshop will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Rockland City Hall.
The public is invited to attend the workshop to help the City plan for better bike and pedestrian access to the South School, according to the City, in a news release. At the workshop, participants can expect to review the project’s draft concepts with project staff, provide feedback on the draft concepts, and indicate their favorite concepts.
Rockland City Hall is located at 270 Pleasant Street in Rockland. All are welcome to attend, including children and families. For those unable to attend in-person, a survey option will be available. To learn more about the project and to access the survey, visit www.rocklandmaine.gov/saferoutes2southschool.
This community workshop is part of a Community Action Grant-funded project to design better active transportation access on three streets surrounding the South Elementary School. To learn more about Rockland’s active transportation planning work, visit www.rocklandmaine.gov/bike.
