ROCKLAND — The Rockland Elks #1008 annual Christmas Food Basket Project was carried out Saturday, Dec. 20 throughout the Midcoast region.

Committee Chairman Don Crudell said, "Ninety needy families determined by the local Salvation Army were given a Christmas Food Basket by volunteers from the lodge."

Each food basket contained celery, carrots, squash, potatoes, onions, apples, rutabaga, canned vegetables, canned cranberries, stuffing, gravy mix, Jello and pudding mix, bread, margarine, Cool Whip, apple pie, and a turkey.
