Rockland District Nursing Association introduces ‘Rose Hip’ weekly bake sales

Fri, 06/24/2022 - 5:45pm

SOUTH THOMASTON — The Rockland District Nursing Association (RDNA) introduces The Rose Hip, a weekly bake sale sustaining community nursing. Sales will be on Saturdays, July 2 through September 3, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., on the Weskeag Village Green, in South Thomaston.

“This isn't your run-of-the-mill bake sale,” said RDNA, in a news release.

The Rose Hip's bakers will prepare the weekly selection from scratch, featuring a signature blueberry pie, a second seasonal fruit pie, traditional British GF scones and Bakewell Cream biscuits, “ideal for strawberry shortcake,” said RNDA.

Each week's offerings will be posted on Facebook and Instagram @rosehipbakers, and pre-orders accepted via email by Thursday noon. All proceeds benefit RDNA. For more information, email rosehipbakers@gmail.com.

“RDNA nurses are able to serve because of our community’s long-standing support,” said Peta vanVuuren, RDNA agency director. “The creative and dedicated volunteers making The Rose Hip a reality today keep this tradition alive.”

Since 1929, RDNA has provided essential, non-acute, in-home and community nursing services to residents of Rockland, Thomaston, South Thomaston, Owls Head, St George, Cushing, Warren and Union.
