Rockland Aussie dog competing at Westminster this morning

ROCKLAND — "Go Fly Go" is a familiar refrain at Harbor Hounds canine daycare, boarding kennel and grooming on Park Street in Rockland. Fly is a 4-year-old Australian shepherd owned by Clara Gardner and Fly's legal name is Maie-ly's Take It To The Limit.
Fly is one of nine Maine dogs competing at The Westminster Kennel Club dog show this morning, Feb. 11, at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The AKC registered Grand Champion (June 29, 2012 dog show in Michigan) is the fifth generation of Aussies in Gardner's line of "home-bred" dogs.
Fly is slated to join 42 other Australian shepherds in Westminster's herding group, with the show beginning at 8 a.m. this morning. In addition to the herding class, this morning's competition will include the hound, toy and non-sporting breed groups. Tuesday will see the sporting, working and terrier breed groups, followed by the Best in Show competition in which the winners of the groups compete for the top prize.
Westminster is streaming the show live (click here) on its website at www.westminsterkennelclub.org, where you can also find everything you need to know about the competition, the breeds and videos and photos of last year's winners. The Aussies competing now, in RING 6.
We hope hometown girl Fly not only has a great time, but brings home lots of ribbons — Go Fly go!
