RES Community Park announces lineup for Fall events
ROCKPORT — RES Community Park, in partnership with various community organizations, announces a diverse lineup of events for the fall season.
RES organizers list the following activities:
Battle of the Bands: In a collaborative effort with Legacy Rockport and Homeworthy, RES Community Park is hosting a local Battle of the Bands on September 21, 2024, at 4 p.m., at the park, located at 40 West Street, Rockport. Music lovers can expect a variety of genres from six local bands including Phog, Subatomic, Trisha Mason Band, Dynamite Slim, The Young Sisters, Mateo Mendoza, and a surprise guest. Event attendees will watch as these bands compete for fun prizes, judged by local celebrities in a lively, family-friendly atmosphere. Proceeds will benefit Homeworthy's Adopt-A-Family program. Food, drinks, and lawn games will be available. Bring chairs or blankets to sit on- but please no coolers! $10 ticket / free for 10 and under. Five Towns Community & Alumni Soccer Championship: Join us on October 6, 2024, at RES Community Park for the inaugural Five Towns Community & Alumni Soccer Championship. Hosted with Camden Hills High School Soccer Boosters, this event unites alumni and locals from Rockport, Camden, Hope, Appleton, and Lincolnville. Enjoy two 7 v 7 soccer matches and tasty treats. Embrace the community spirit and friendly competition in this exciting event!
Oktoberfest Family-Friendly Celebration: Celebrate Oktoberfest on October 12, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at RES Community Park. Enjoy authentic German dishes like pretzels with beer cheese and hearty sausages with veggies. Adults can savor local beers and ciders, while children delight in fun activities. Live music will add to the festive atmosphere, making it a perfect afternoon for laughter, delicious food, and hanging with new and old friends. Join us for this fun-filled family event!
About the RES Community Park: The Lesher Family Foundation, in collaboration with the Town of Rockport, is committed to transforming the former Rockport Elementary School (RES) grounds into a community park that is accessible and beneficial to everyone.
