Peggy E. Curit, obituary
HOPE — Peggy E. Curit passed away peacefully at home on March 2, 2025 at the age of 66. She was born in Bangor, on November 26, 1958 to Alton and Ila Hood Hartley.
Peggy worked for a number of years for the Department of Transportation out of Rockport, Maine. She also worked for the Maritime Farm Store with her dear friend Kate Simms, and for the Rockport Corner Shop.
Peggy lived life to the fullest and was very proud of her children. She felt blessed when her grandchildren Lily and Lucas arrived.
Peggy was predeceased by both of her parents, as well as the father of her children, Lawrence Curit, Sr.
She is survived by: her daughter, Priscilla Curit of Hope; her son BJ Curit and his wife Jamie of Warren; her grandchildren Lily and Lucas Curit; her siblings, Sandra Mansfield and her husband Rick of Rockland, Nancy Hartley of Thomaston, and Nelson Hartley of Hope; her nieces and nephews, Amanda Mansfield, Elizabeth Mansfield and her husband Evan of Dover, New Hampshire, Alexa and her husband Cameron of Ocala Florida, Terri Hendron and her husband Greg of Thomaston, Vicky Dorr and her husband Jeff of Winslow, and Anthony Hartley and his wife Karissa of Waterville; her special ‘adopted’ grandson Brandon Colson and his wife Tessa of St. George; several great nieces and nephews; and her best bud and dear friend, Brenda Lewis of Rockland.
Peggy’s family has chosen to remember her life privately.
