ROCKLAND — Susan Begin of Cre8tive-Events helps create unique Christmas ornaments and coffee mugs with the signature of a pet, and this week she is partnering with Loyal Biscuit in the Midcoast to help raise funds for the welfare of shelter animals.

"Today we're doing ornaments and coffee mugs, and it's for a fundraiser here at Loyal Biscuit in Rockland," she said. "A portion of what we take in today will go for purchasing pet food for the shelters."

All dogs, all sizes and depending on the pet's activity determines the character level of the print. Sometimes they have a little more character and sometimes they are perfect, she said.

On Saturday, Dec. 5, Begin will be at Loyal Biscuit in Camden and on Sunday, Dec. 13, she will be at Loyal Biscuit’s Belfast store, creating these one-of-a-kind ornaments and mugs. Between these stops, Begin will be at the store’s Waterville location on Saturday, Dec. 12.

It helps to make an appointment for your pet, but the team will fit walk-ins as best they can. Susan uses non-toxic paints and provides materials to clean up your pet after you're finished.

Heidi Neal, owner of Loyal Biscuit, said this was just the first of four fundraisers for the pantry project over the holidays.

Last year Loyal Biscuit was able to provide seven pallets of food, and Neal said this year they are hoping to do at least that much again.
