BELFAST — Patrick Robert Kolment, 55, peacefully passed away on September 15, 2020 at his home in Belfast, Maine.

Patrick was born in 1965, in Massapequa, Long Island, New York to Yolande Kolment, of Lac-Mégantic, Quebec and Robert G. Kolment of Manhattan, New York alongside his three siblings, Nina, Richard and Dennis. Patrick was the youngest.

Patrick grew up in Long Island and graduated from Amityville Memorial Highschool in 1983. It was in Long Island that Patrick began to cultivate a large network of close friends, and associates. It was with Laura Tanzer that Patrick would find his soulmate. Patrick worked hard to achieve the trade title of Master Electrician and would also learn multiple different skills. He was a swiss army knife- a man of many talents and a jack of all trades.

Patrick’s unique spirit allowed for him to cultivate some of the closest, and hilarious friendships – to such an extent that became extensions to his own family. They would regularly keep in touch despite being states away! Those include Don Prager, John Lamendola, Dennis Byrne, Ricky Roche, Mike Flyntz, Tom Flyntz, Danny Mormando, Edward Scotti and Stephen Tuzzolino.

In 1995, Patrick moved with his family to Belfast, Maine. It was here that Patrick would further embrace his love for the outdoors. In 1997, Patrick became a father to his son, Chase Kolment. Throughout his years in Maine and in New York Patrick would lend a hand to those in need and expect nothing in return. Patrick’s life and beliefs, he passed on to those around him will forever bind us to the idea of how beautiful of a soul he had.

Patrick is survived by his son, Chase; his mother, Yolande; his sister, Nina Hallbert; two brothers, Richard Kolment, Dennis Kolment; and his brother-in-law, David Hallbert. Patrick held his nephew and nieces exceptionally close, and they include: Perry Hallbert, Desneige Hallbert, Rachel Lanier, Matthew Kolment, and Jared Kolment.

Patrick’s part in his family was large, and his experiences and stories stretch far and wide within the Kolment and Poulin families. We will forever hold Patrick dearly in our hearts and realize the life and principles he practiced.
