Pancakes, a 5K race and boats, lots and lots of boats

    CAMDEN – The weekend weather was perfect for the Camden Windjammer Festival celebration that was held on the Camden Public Landing, August 30 and 31. The harbor filled with tall ships on Friday night and Saturday saw an abundance of people taking in the festivities.

    The annual Camden Rotary Club Pancake Breakfast kicked off Saturday morning serving around 6 a.m., as well as, the Camden Fire Department Windjammer 5K with 80 runners participating in the first-ever event.

    Evan Constantine was the first place winner with a time of 21:56, Alex Hambacatr finished second with a time of 21:59, Rachel Tolchin finished third with a time of 22:07.

    Saturday also saw the lobster crate race and first fish relay. Music a parade of sail, and Friday’s events were topped off with a fireworks display.
