Oceanside LAX hosts new Erskine club team
The Oceanside girls lacrosse club team hosted the brand new Erskine Academy club team in a game at Sam Pendleton Field in Thomaston Wednesday taking an 18-0 win.
"This is the first year for the Erskine team and it was wonderful to be able to host them," said Oceanside coach Angie Vachon. "The match up was the first game of the Erskine’s club short season. They were wonderful guests, with one of their players even keeping the clock for the game , and speaking with the team after the game, they were all smiles."
The Oceanside girls were able to play in different positions then they normally would, which is a great learning tool for them to experience what their fellow teammates do & are up against.
Jalynn Hurd had three saves in goal for the Mariners while the Erskine goalie had six.
Scoring for the Mariners were, Kimberly Young (2 assists, 3 goals), Cortney Simmons (2 assists, 2 goals), Abbey Lacasse (1 assist, 2 goals), Alexis Pine (1 assist, 2 goals), Olivia Hupper (3 goals), Karly Robinson (2 goals), Janelle Fowlie, Makaye Stone, Hailey Hobbs and Riley Pillsbury (1 goal each).
The Mariners will travel to Maranacook Monday, May 20 and host Erskine again on May 29 in their final game of the season.
