Occupants flee scene after striking utility pole, house in St. George
ST. GEORGE — Occupants of a pickup truck fled the scene after the truck they were riding in struck a utility pole before coming to rest against a front corner of the house at 863 River Road, in St. George, Sunday morning, March 23, 2025.
Power lines lay across the road following the approximate 1:35 a.m. incident, prompting the fire department to close River Road at Kinney Woods Road until Central Maine Power could arrive on scene and cut electricity to the section of power around the downed lines. CMP cut that electricity prior to 2:45 a.m., allowing Auto Master Towing to set to work hauling away the vehicle.
St. George Ambulance also responded to the scene. However, with no vehicle occupants to evaluate, they were able to pull away shortly after for another, unrelated, medical call down the road.
SGFD returned to station at 2:45 a.m.
