No official group leading parade

I am new to Friendship, Maine. We just moved here and became “official” Maine residents on January 1, 2021.
Also, I have served our federal government in Washington, D.C., for over 30 years as a civil servant. Therefore, I just attended my first “Friendship Days Celebration” and I THANK all involved with putting this together. However, I have one CONCERN.
There was no “OFFICAL” (Veterans group. Boy Scouts, etc.,) to present the AMERICAN flag during the parade?
