VINALHAVEN — Midsummer I at New Era Gallery on Vinalhaven will feature the work of painter Herbert Parsons and sculptor Peter Codella.

The show will open on Saturday, July 13, with an artists’ talk at 4:30 p.m., in the Windy Way Barn followed by a reception from 5 - 7 p.m. 

Parsons oil paintings reflect his decades long fascination with the dynamic climate of Maine in all seasons, from foggy summer days to low-lit winter afternoons. Codella’s sculpture combines found objects and cut and welded steel, often featuring island stones.

The show runs through July 28.

Summer gallery hours are Monday – Saturday 10am to 5pm and Sunday by appointment.
