Registration is now open for a special Fall Women Build, taking place Friday, Oct. 23, and Saturday, Oct. 24, at Midcoast Habitat for Humanity’s Compass Point 10-home pocket neighborhood in Rockport.

 

"After an incredible response to Women Build this spring, which brought together more than 160 volunteers, Midcoast Habitat is adding a fall event to give even more women the opportunity to get involved," said Midcoast Habitat, in a news release.

"Women Build is about more than swinging a hammer," said the news release. "It is an opportunity for women of all skill levels to come together, learn something new, support one another, spend time with friends, and make a tangible difference in their community."

Participants will work alongside Midcoast Habitat staff, skilled volunteers, and fellow Women Build participants as construction continues at Compass Point in Rockport. 

 

Fall Women Build Details:
Build Days: Friday, October 23 or Saturday, October 24
Shift Times: 9:00 AM–12:00 PM & 1:00–4:00 PM
Location: Compass Point, Rockport
Registration Fee: $50, with participants committing to raise another $50 (or more!) in support of Midcoast Habitat’s affordable housing work

Space is limited to 15 participants per shift. No previous construction experience is necessary.

Midcoast Habitat invites individuals, friends, coworkers, businesses, and organizations to take part in the Fall Women Build or support a participant’s fundraising efforts. Funds raised through Women Build help Midcoast Habitat continue creating safe, affordable homeownership opportunities for families in Knox County.
