Midcoast Community Chorus opens fall registration for January concert
CAMDEN — Midcoast Community Chorus welcomes singers of all ages, experience, and abilities to register for the fall semester of weekly rehearsals.
Performing for over ten years, the chorus gives voice to anyone who wishes to sing, holding the tenet that the voice is the sound of the soul, that all voices deserve to be heard, and that singing together builds community.
Members of the public are invited to join about one hundred singers between ages 13 to 95 to sing under the direction of Artistic Director Jeffrey Maynard, accompanied by Assistant Director joani mitchell. Different traditions, cultures, languages, and musical genres make up the semester’s musical selection with the intention to provide hope, inspiration, healing, and joy to a concert audience.
An audition is not required. In-person registration occurs before the first three rehearsals scheduled for Monday, September 11, 18, and 25, from 5 to 6 p.m. MCC meets at the First Congregational Church, 55 Elm Street, Camden.
Rehearsals are each Monday, starting September 11, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Singers are provided with all sheet music and practice audio tracks. Singers may also register online by going tohttps://mccsings.org/join.
Registration for the semester is $85, with scholarships available. The semester of rehearsals culminates in a concert in mid-January of 2024.
Inquiries may be made by emailing info@mccsings.org.
“We look forward to welcoming you for a joyful semester of song,” said MCC, in a news release.
